A babywearing challenge for newborns and newbies [Image: text overlaid on a starry sky background. The header reads quote, may the fourth trimester challenge be with you, end quote. The text of the header is stylized to look like the Star Wars movie title. There's a blue light saber separating the header from the tag line and carry list in the body of the image, which is stylized to look like the opening text in the Star Wars movies. The tag line reads quote, a babywearing challenge for newborns and newbies, end quote. The carry list is 1, front wrap cross carry; 2, front cross carry; 3, torso carry; 4, robin's hip/front carry; 5, poppin's hip/front carry; 6, traditional sling carry; 7, reinforced traditional sling carry; 8, pocket wrap cross carry; 9, kangaroo; 10, front double hammock; 11, Anne's front carry; 12, ruck tied in front; 13, ruck tied at shoulder; 14, inside out front pirate; end quote. The footer of the image contains the challenge hashtag quote, may the fourth trimester, end quote.]
Starting on May the Fourth (as in "May the Force Be With You"), the May the Fourth Trimester Challenge is the latest creation I've written with the Babywearing Challenge group! This challenge is a great way for new wrappers to learn a month's worth of carries, and the carries are all newborn-friendly or have modifications for newborns - perfect for the "fourth trimester."
A whole bunch of useful things:
  • Below is the list of carries and their sizes, each linked to a series of tutorial videos.
  • There are TWO DAYS for each carry, so you can take your time, not feel rushed, and enjoy that fourth trimester. Remeber you get a new carry on all the EVEN numbered days in May!!
  • Each "even numbered" morning I'll post a new IGTV tutorial on Instagram.
  • Each "odd numbered" afternoon at 1 PM Pacific I'll be LIVE on Instagram troubleshooting and offering tips.
  • Curious about the wrapping sizes and terms? Start here: http://www.amywrapsbabies.com/beginners
  • Use the tags #maythefouthtrimester and #babywearingchallenge on Instagram to share your wrap jobs!
